The Workshop will broadly cover the following topics through lectures and a laboratory visit.
Fragility relationships, earthquake vulnerability, seismic response and performance assessment.
RC wall-frame buildings, masonry-infilled RC buildings, damage assessment and structural fragility.
Risk assessment, ageing-induced deterioration, resilience and probabilistic life-extension assessment.
Steel petrochemical plants, bridges in hilly regions, corrosion-deteriorated RC structures and multiple hazards.
OpenSees-REOS risk analysis platform, structural modelling, fragility and probabilistic assessment.
Tsunami hazard assessment, structural response and development of tsunami-resilient structures for coastal regions.
Participants are expected to gain a basic understanding of seismic vulnerability, fragility, risk, and resilience assessment of structures and infrastructure, and to learn probabilistic and multi-hazard assessment approaches, including earthquake, tsunami, ageing, and deterioration effects, along with their practical applications.
The Workshop is open to practising engineers, industry professionals and consultants. Final-year undergraduate students of Civil Engineering, postgraduate students of Structural Engineering specialization, and faculty members of engineering colleges and polytechnics are also eligible. Seats are also available for researchers from R&D laboratories.

Reader in Resilient and Sustainable Infrastructure at the University of Liverpool, UK; Founder and Leader of the Civil Infrastructure Research Team and Director of Research for the Department. Programme Director for the Master's in Sustainable Civil and Structural Engineering (PG). Holds a PhD in Structural Engineering and MScs in Earthquake Engineering and Structural Steel Design. Research interests include low-carbon materials for resilient infrastructure, climate-change adaptation, and advanced testing and numerical simulation including digital twins.
BIS Chair Professor in Civil Engineering and Dean of Outreach Education and Skilling at IIT Guwahati. Research focuses on earthquake-resistant design, nonlinear structural behavior, seismic retrofitting, large-scale experimental testing, and earthquake damage assessment. Fellow of the Institution of Engineers (India) and recipient of the INAE Young Engineer Award (2010).
Assistant Professor of Civil Engineering at NIT Manipur. B.Tech (NERIST), M.Tech and Ph.D. from IIT Guwahati. Research interests include structural vulnerability assessment, seismic hazard assessment, earthquake-resistant and performance-based design, disaster risk assessment, and AI in structural engineering.
Associate Professor of Civil Engineering at IIT Bombay. Ph.D. from Rice University, Houston. Former Research Engineer and Catastrophe Modeler at AIR Worldwide. Young Faculty Award recipient; Associate Editor of the ASCE Journal of Bridge Engineering. Research spans multi-hazard vulnerability of bridges and buildings, climate-change effects on bridge deterioration, machine-learning for fragility prediction, and uncertainty quantification.
Assistant Professor at G. H. Raisoni Skill Tech University. M.E. in Structural Engineering (RGPV Bhopal); has submitted his PhD thesis at IIT Guwahati. Research focuses on seismic performance assessment, nonlinear analysis, and seismic risk assessment. Carried out PhD research at the University of Naples Federico II, Italy under the SPARC project.
Founder and CEO of RealmRisk NG Pvt. Ltd. (incubated at IIT Roorkee) and Senior Research Fellow, Department of Earthquake Engineering, IIT Roorkee. Research spans AI and Digital Twins for structural health assessment, performance-based seismic design and retrofitting of ageing RC structures, and life-cycle cost and carbon footprint assessment.
Postdoctoral Research Fellow at IIT Guwahati. PhD in Structural Dynamics and Earthquake Engineering (NIT Silchar). Research focuses on tsunami hazard forecasting, vulnerability mapping of coastal regions, and probabilistic multi-hazard fragility and climate-adaptive resilience frameworks for coastal infrastructure.
Project Research Scientist at IIT Bombay working on fragility and reliability assessment of infrastructure under corrosion deterioration, seismic and wind hazards. Engaged in a drone-based non-destructive testing project under the Maharashtra Drone Mission. Alumna of IIT Guwahati (M.Tech and Ph.D. in Structural Engineering).
