The Online Certificate Program on Patent and Technology Transfer is designed to provide participants with a structured understanding of the fundamentals, processes, and practical aspects of patent protection and technology transfer. The program brings together experts from academia, industry, intellectual property practice, technology transfer offices, and innovation ecosystems to provide both conceptual knowledge and real-world insights.
It will cover key aspects of the patent lifecycle — patentability assessment, prior-art search, patent drafting, filing and prosecution, patent portfolio management, and commercialization of patented technologies — with special emphasis on technology transfer mechanisms, licensing, valuation, negotiation, IP management, industry–academia collaboration, and translating research outcomes into marketable technologies.
By integrating academic perspectives with practical case studies and expert-led sessions, the program aims to equip students, researchers, faculty members, entrepreneurs, startups, and professionals with the knowledge and skills required to protect, manage, transfer, and commercially leverage intellectual property and innovative technologies.

By the end of the program, participants will be able to:
Understand the fundamentals of patents, patent systems, and the role of patents in protecting technological innovations.
