This course will cover the fundamentals of light microscopy, including different light paths, contrast techniques, principles of fluorescence, imaging capabilities, and confocal microscopy. It will be followed by hands-on training on PSF measurement, multi-dimensional image acquisition, 3D reconstruction, etc. Participants will gain practical experience using advanced imaging modalities, including widefield, point scanning, and spinning disk confocal microscopes. The hands-on sessions will be supplemented with individual exercises, assignment submissions, and discussions to address any questions. The course also includes an image analysis component, introducing participants to the basics of digital image analysis, data handling, and ethical considerations. Additionally, research talks by eminent scientists will provide insights into the applications of light microscopy, demonstrating how the knowledge gained can be used to derive meaningful scientific conclusions from digital images. This is an intensive training course that combines lectures with practical demonstrations, hands-on sessions, and discussions. Full-time participation is mandatory.
Fees include hands-on training sessions and workshop materials.
Maximum: 20 Participants
Participants will be selected based on the submitted motivation letter and recommendation letter.
India Bioimaging conducts hands-on microscopy training workshops across the country. A similar workshop was conducted at IISER Pune.
